Pengillys, formerly known as Pengilly and Ridge, was established in 1891.  Pengillys is one of the largest independent law firms in Dorset with high aspirations far beyond its regional boundaries.  We provide legal expertise and commercial advice to regional, national and international business organisations.  Our belief in providing comprehensive services extends to encompass a range of personal legal services for both business and individual private clients.

On 1 April 2009 Pengillys moved from being a traditional partnership to a more corporate strusture through an LLP (limited liability partnership).  This will allow the firm to adapt and take advantage of the changes it anticipates in the legal market over the years to come.  Pengillys LLP is a separate legal entity and the Principals of the firm will not have any personal liability to clients as it will be the LLP backed by its Professional Indemnity Insurance which is responsible for providing legal services.
