Jenny Sanders, Assistant Solicitor
Having explored various career paths including working on a fruit farm, chamber maiding, waitressing in a burger joint and working for a laser company, Jenny obtained an Honours Degree in the Humanities and committed herself to a legal career as a solicitor in Leeds in 1988. She worked in Oxfordshire for 12 years becoming a partner in 1996.
In 2000, after the birth of her son, and for family reasons, she moved to Dorset joining firstly Wickham & Lloyd-Edwards and then Pengillys as solicitor in the family departments.
In 2002, she qualified as an all-issues family mediator with Resolution. She has always been a supporter of the mediation process and is now delighted that it has become a recognised mainstream alternative to the Court process.
Since qualifying as a family mediator, she has become accredited with Resolution gaining significant experience in mediation and being instrumental in building up Pengillys' thriving mediation department.
Jenny is also a member of the Law Society panel of mediators and in 2010 qualified as a Professional Practice Consultant enabling her to supervise other mediators.
Jenny has also completed the training which enables her to directly consult with children within the family mediation process in appropriate circumstances.
Jenny lives in West Dorset on a small farm with her husband and son, several chickens and geese, two ponies, one dog and about 300 sheep. To relax, Jenny enjoys walking, travel, reading, movies and theatre and has recently combined some of these interests by gaining an Honours Degree with the Open University in Creative Writing and Shakespeare Studies.
