Money and property (financial ancillary relief)

Once parties have separated, we can help resolve both short- and long-term financial arrangements for them and any children. We can assist and advise in relation to:-

  • Ongoing financial provision for a spouse (maintenance.)
  • Ongoing financial provision for any children (including the impact of the Child Support Agency.)
  • Lump sum.
  • Division of assets including property.
  • Pension sharing.
  • The relevance of and acceptance of any clean break provisions.

We will explain the difference between involving mediation, negotiation or, if necessary, any application to the Court. Only a small number of financial disputes need to be resolved by the Court. In our experience, proper, early advice and negotiation can help settle matters as quickly and as amicably as circumstances permit.
