Family Mediation

Family Mediation was again in the news recently with the publication of the Norgrove report of the Family Justice Review.

Its work was centred on a wholesale review of the workings of the Family Justice System.  One of its recommendations was making greater use of mediation in resolving family disputes to keep such cases away from the courts and dealt with by the family and mediator.

In its response, the Government, through the Ministry of Justice said that "We agree with the panel's strong focus on mediation...and we will be increasing funding for this by two thirds."
