Estate Administration

Estate administration can be complex and time consuming and the loss of a loved one can be a difficult time. Dealing with their estate is a personal and sensitive matter.

Aspects of estate administration can include: -

  • Ascertaining the value and nature of the estate.
  • Completing the necessary documentation to lead to the Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration.
  • Calculating Inheritance tax payable and how it should be paid.
  • The administration of the estate and making payments to beneficiaries.
  • Preparing of detailed estate accounts.
  • Preparing and filing the tax return for Income tax, Capital Gains and Inheritance taxes, as required.
  • Preparation of Deeds of Variation to mitigate any Inheritance tax that may be payable.
  • Probate disputes.

Pengillys can deal with either the whole administration or provide advice on specific issues.
