- Encourage a constructive and conciliatory approach to the resolution of family disputes.
- Encourage a narrowing of the issues in dispute and the effective and timely resolution of disputes.
- Endeavour to minimise the risk to the parties and/or the children with particular emphasis on the interests of the children and long term family relationships.
- Endeavour to ensure that costs are not unreasonably incurred.
