Home Information Packs Scrapped

With immediate effect (20 May 2010) the requirement for a HIP has been suspended so that sellers will no longer need to have a HIP in place before they can market their property for sale.

The move has been welcomed by those in the Housing Industry who always regarded Home Information Packs as pointless red tape from the moment they were introduced.

Sellers should note however that Energy Performance Certificates will still be required to be provided for properties sold or let.
