Family Procedure Rules 2010
A major shake-up of all Family Court procedures has been introduced on the 6th April 2011. A key emphasis is a pre-application protocol with an expectation that parties will attempt a resolution of their dispute using Mediation.
Family Mediation can often help achieve a resolution in a family dispute either between parents in relation to their children or in connection with financial aspects.
Normally, subject to exceptions, anyone wishing to apply to the Court will have to first consider alternate means of resolving the disputes through Mediation or other recognised alternate dispute resolution procedures including Collaborative Law.
The Pengillys Family Mediation Team are accredited Solicitor Mediators. The Pengillys Family Mediation Team accept referrals for Family Mediation direct from individuals, their respective solicitors or the Court and undertake both Publicly Funded (Legal Aid) or private Mediation.
