Pengillys holds one of only two Specialist Quality Marks awarded by the Legal Services Commission for publicly funded Clinical Negligence work in Dorset.

John undertakes a wide range of mainly Clinical Negligence and some Personal Injury claims.  He has successfully brought a wide range of both fatal and non-fatal Clinical Negligence claims.  They have ranged in value from seven-figure obstetric claims to four-figure dental claims.  He has experience of claims involving a wide range of medical disciplines including treatment in obstetrics, gynaecology, orthopaedics, paediatrics, urology, nephrology, surgery (plastic, maxillofacial, colorectal and general), neurology, opthalmology, cytogenetics, hepatology, haematology, together with general medical and dental practice.

John is assisted by Rose Arnold who is a member of the Law Society Clinical Negligence Panel.

The funding for John's cases ranges from public funding from the Legal Services Commission (formerly known as "Legal Aid"), legal expenses insurance to conditional fee ("no win, no fee" - subject to insurance) agreements.

John is happy to make home or hospital visits to clients where appropriate.

Although a consultant with Pengillys, John works most of the time remotely from an office in the Bournemouth area.  He also works occassionally from Post Office Chambers and Challacombe House.
