Divorce

If one or both parties feel that the marriage is at an end a divorce can be contemplated. The law requires there to have been an irretrievable breakdown in the marriage.

We act for both husbands and wives. The person who commences the proceedings is known as the Petitioner and the other party the Respondent.

We can advise in relation to all grounds of divorce; adultery, unreasonable behaviour, desertion, two years separation with consent or five years separation.

We can assist in connection with all aspects of the divorce (which is distinct from any dispute relating to children or finances) including:-

  • Any possible reconciliation.
  • The issue of the Petition.
  • Arrangements for any children.
  • The Acknowledgement of Service.
  • The Request for Directions for Trial.
  • The grant of Decree Nisi.
  • The grant of Decree Absolute.
We endeavour to resolve all issues arising quickly, efficiently and with the minimum of distress.

We are happy to make referrals to other agencies to assist, should reconciliation be contemplated.
